Hmmm, not really a big fan of any of the colorways show, sorry. I guess that if I had to pick one, I'd pick the last - it's a reasonably interesting take on the classic checkerboard.

I have seen so any skull and bones recently that they give me a rash, so I can't say I like 1, The Jamaican colors in 2 are somewhat interesting, but Puma overkilled that colorway last year, and the ones with the beige dominant with another pastel for accent are visually uninteresting. I mean, they won't offend, but if you are doing a custom job, seem hardly worth the effort and money.

The black with pink trim is okay, and the crossbones detailing not particularly grating, but not really that inspired.

    All imo, of course.

Yeah, the last, and if you could get the Misfits skull logo instead of the Yale logo, I'd say the first also.

I appreciate all of the feedback. I know flashy skate shoes are not everyone's cup of tea. I figured there would be some here that might appreciate this sort of thing Though.
I wanted to try this at the trad forum first, just to see if they would threaten to strangle me with their rep ties!

As sophisto-wannabe as I sometimes may come off on the forum, I really like my pair of Vans - I have the black and bright red checkerboard ones. Gotten lots of positive comments on them.

I don't ever wear slip-on Vans (somehow, they just don't look right on me), but I do like the Chukkas and Sk8-Hi's. I like all sorts of sneakers. j. wears Edward Green boots, and is literally "The Man" here, so beware.

I hate sandals and boat shoes, so slip-ons are my favorite summer street shoe. The Vans custom program isn't that expensive. They have an applet on their site to design them. I think the custom slip-ons are $50, the Old-Skool are $60. Not too bad at all considering most skate shoes are in the $100+ range these days.

I like the first and last. I agree that the Misfits skull would be better than the Yale, but the Dali skull would be best of all...

I think you can get 'em at Zappos.

Where Eagles Dare - is the Misfits song where you get your name?

Lately I've enjoyed walking up to people wearing Misfits clothing and saying "Quick! What's your favorite Misfits song?!" Most people can't give you anything - in fact, one girl asked who the Misfits were.

Ah, and here's the checker-skull version:
