Pilot shape is really hot right now, and not just as sunglasses.
Some of the companies to look for are if you're into metal frames:
Gotti + Niederer's styles Pablo and Pan - titanium with 0.5micron Gold or Palladium coating - are stunning.
Bugatti, made by French company Augar, has several styles, with temple tips and front wrapped in red leather, that are absolutely breath taking.
Veronique Branquinho's pilot is very sophisticated.

For plastic version, which is ultimate, check out :
Derome Brenner Huggy 04 and GOB 09
Sophia Kokosalaki will have one awesome style
There are others, but I don't really consider them as an option. Of course, I don't look at eyewear the way most people do.

though i don't like gold frames, i prefer the grey/green lens.

it really depends what you're going to have to match it with, i think the gun metal frames will be easier to match.

I prefer brown lenses. I find that they increase contrast while sheilding bright lights, whereas grey just darkens everything. Both look good though from the otherside on most people. Gold frames though... different story. I usually like gunmetal, but I've had it chip off on old glasses of mine due to corrosion.

The old '50s Ray Bans were made in heavy metal with 14kt Goldfill, hand-turned celluloid ear-pieces and glass lenses . Can you get that quality today?
