So, I work for a service company and they have decided that the managers need to be out in the field now and then. And we are required to wear boots when we go in the field. They need to be black, with a lugged sole. So, looking for suggestions for something with a commando sole, or another "lugged" sole and they gotta be black. Oh yeah, need to have a 3/4" inch heel too.

Took a look at the white's but nothing really pops out...looking for a fairly dress look still. Was thinking Aldens or something similiar, but cant find the right combination or look. Sort of a traditionalist when it comes to footwear, but willing to step outside the box if something fits my needs. Also forgot to mention but these would be my everyday wear as I wouldn't know what day they may want me to be in the field.

Viberg - probably have to go MTO. They'll be slightly less formal, but anything with that kind of lug sole will be inherently informal.

You didn't indicate if these are required to be safety boots with steel toes, etc. If not, I question this usefulness of this policy, but it sure makes for better looking choices.

If so, this probably limits your options. Personally, I'd probably just get some Blundstone safety boots and be done with it (or keep them at your desk / car). In a prior lifetime, I had a job that required a lot of field work, and I remember having steel toed dress shoes. Didn't really think of how they looked, but would probably be offensive viewed through the typical SF criteria.

Nope, doesn't need to be steel toes..so thats why I'm looking for something that is usable outside work. The Vibergs might be an alternative, not too concerned on price. Anything from Tricker's to Alden's...just cant seem to find the right version...grrr. Any other alternatives out there?
