I am looking for some shorts to wear while doing functional fitness stuff (weightlifting, running, rowing, stretching, kayaking, etc.). Here's what I am looking for:
  • Comes in tubby sizes: 42" waist
  • High front rise: 13-14"
  • 6-8" inseam (longer OK, willing to hem if necessary)
  • Liner (brief mesh is better, compression and boxer-brief are OK)
  • Four-way stretch fabric
  • Side pockets
  • Elastic waist, maybe with with internal tie. No board short closures.
  • No logo, or at least discreet branding
  • Can stand some abrasion and abuse (unlike onion-skin running shorts)
I already looked at Lululemon and Rogue. Chubbies has some that meet this criteria, but I am not sure how durable they are. Any other recommendations would be much appreciated.

If this is better suited to another forum, please feel free to move it.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
