I'm looking for two poster to decorate my dorm room. The first is one that i am drawing a complete blank on even though i know i know it. Its the picture of the guy in the bowler hat with the apple on his face, i'm sure you all know what i'm talking about. The second is one that used to know but have long since forgot. It was on the cover of time magazine of the guy getting assasinated, can't recall who took it but i am looking for a poster of both. If you could help out i would appreciate it

regards
nik

The first is used as an avatar by one of SF's members -- drawing a blank on who right now.

As for the second, are you talking about the picture from the Vietnam War that shows an officer in the South Vietnamese army executing a Viet Cong rebel?

Make your own posters. Rasterbate.... Basically turns any image into a poster. Takes a little time, but they come out pretty good. I don't suggest using your own printer, it eats up ink like mad...print them from work.
You've been warned...

If you want to attract chicks into your dorm room (which is 90% of the point of living in the dorm anyway) I don't suggest putting up a poster of a guy getting executed. Just my unsolicited $.02.

The first is "Son of Man" by Rene Magritte.

Not sure about the second.

you mean THIS picture?
If so, it was taken by Eddie Adams for the Associated Press. He won a pulitzer prize for it. Execution of a Viet Cong guerilla 1968.
Yeh thats the one anyone know if its on a poster? Â And thanks for your response to the son of man ones, i think i'm gonna order that. Â As for the eddie adams one and chicks well beats the shit out of putting up stupid beers of the world posters or the lame humor posters thats in every uninteresting generic college room across the country and its a better conversation piece in my opinion and thats what umm we umm would going back to my room for anyhow ahh yeh. Actually there is another piece i'm looking for. It a picture of east berlin with a soldier standing on one side of the barb wire with a child on the other. I don't know anything about it i saw it once but don't rember where or anything about it. Or if you have anything along those lines you can recommend would be really cool. Need to fill up some white wall space that looks awful. Thanks Nik

It's been done, but I always liked the albums-on-the-wall thing. Restoration Hardware and Urban Outfitters (cringe on both counts, but) have 12" album frames that aren't too pricey (like $20 for 2), and finding cool album art cheap is really easy. Not that you asked for suggestions. If the Pulitzer pic strikes your fancy, so be it, I prefer Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass.

The album thing is being done currently (work in progress) in our living room of our house, any recommendations of wear to get just album covers from?

As long as you don't plan on playing the records, eBay is alright. I've gotten several broken or badly damaged records on eBay, but the cover art was what I coveted. Otherwise, record stores that sell used records. Many really cool-looking (or hipster-funny) records are not rare, so even thrift stores might have them. I got my copy of the Alpert album from a thrift store... Maybe your parents' basement? I dunno if there's a solid online source for old records, but I wouldn't doubt it. Edit: Can't go wrong here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....me=WDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....88&rd=1
