Help me find a purple tie

I've been looking all over the place for a deep purple tie (royal purple?), preferably with pindots or maybe a twill or herringbone. Most of the ones I've seen in person are too dull, too close to lilac, or fuschia. The closest I've found is this, at Charles Alexander but I'm not a fan of 3.25" width ties, would like 3.75". I love the texture of that tie but the width kills it for me. Sam Hober doesn't quite have anything, although the purple grenadine is great and I may end up just getting that. TM Lewin has a couple that are pretty close, but I wasn't impressed with the quality of the one Lewin tie that I have.

Suggestions?

You could try New and Lingwood: http://www.newandlingwood.com/product.php?id=370 I purchased the same tie a few years back and it is very nice - the silk is quite heavy, in an Ottoman weave, and it ties an excellent knot with a nice dimple. If you are not in the UK, N&L should subtract VAT from the price but they will charge you GBP 12 in shipping.

It's one of my favourites. The wave weave has a lovely texture/shimmer in daylight. Colour reproduction isn't the best on his website; I'd suggest asking for swatches.

I also have this:

Silk is much more lustrous IRL. Also one of my favourites.

The first one is a little more eggplant than I was going for. The second is awesome and is under consideration.

I mentioned a tie by CA in the OP, alas they're all 3.25".

I wish the picture was better, kind of hard to see the color and texture.

Huh, didn't know that was an option. Might give it a try.

I'm glad you like the tie Gib, but unfortunately we do not do custom orders anymore. Only for large orders like Weddings and whatnot.

I'll let you know if we start making wider ties.

EDIT: Weird, I'm atually wearing that tie today

Thanks for the response.

That tie actually spurred my search, saw it during the Christmas sale and loved it but I just look goofy with narrower ties. It was damn tempting at the sale price point too!
