Help me figure out the era of the suit

Howdy, I picked up this 3 piece wool suit from a local second hand store for about €10. Now I'm having a bit of a trouble figuring out the era of this thing. It's obviously not finest wool out there, which gives it a little bit "warmer" look. Also, the lapels are quite wide and quite low and the pants are pleated, which makes me guess about 70s/80s? I can always wear the pieces separately, but how can it be pulled off as a suit, if ever?
And, can I wear a pocket square somehow, considering the wideness of the lapels covers the breast pocket?

It's hard to tell from this photograph. The low gorge is a big clue but I would need to see the full jacket, preferably on a mannequin. Since I have had to reproduce period clothing often from vintage samples, I have seen some consistent things, but I won't bother with an analysis until there are better pics, to make sure I don't embarrass myself on this ruthless forum
Take a front, back and side full shot, and get some in focus close ups of the breast pocket, side pocket, vent (if any), underside of the collar, and the inner lining where it joins the facing. It'd be better to see more but I'm already annoyed I volunteered to look at all those pictures

The gorge says that suit is at least as old as me, and I'm no spring chicken

That gorge says '80s to me....

However, I have seen suits from the '40s with a gorge similar to that.

If it were from the '40s, it would be readily apparent though.

Could you button the jacket? It seems a bit loose, but that can be altered. Put on some wingtips and a skinny tie and turn on some more lights in the room. :)
