Aruba tends to be very dry for a Caribbean Island and is almost always too far south to be affected by hurricanes and tropical storms. Some peoples thoughts on August in Aruba at the Hyatt:

yeah. i got caught in a tropical storm a few years ago on a family vacation in the tropics. ******* scariest **** of my life and it wasn't even hurricane status. the storm itself wasn't bad. it was not knowing how well the buildings were constructed, etc. go in november.....
