I picked up these pants because I thought they looked different:
http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse...?pid=530086002

They are black with chocolate-brown pinstripes. However, I am a bit confused as to what color belt/shoes I should wear and what color ****. Also, should the shirt be plain or striped, I plan on wearing a tie.

Thanks.

belt should match color of your shoe. Very dark brown or black is probably best. As far as shirt, refer to the BR website: the model is sporting both a blue shirt and a white shirt, so that should be fine.

As far as a tie, would a blue/gray/black striping one be fine, or should the tie be more brown based to bring out the pinstripe?

Solid brown ought to do a better job of that. Shirt color and personal coloring are much bigger factors in tie choice, though.
