Friends, I just purchased a pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue from an estate sale. I'm new to the brand, and want to know what details I can gather from the serial numbering on the inside. Interested in learning things like: Official color. Leather type. Goodyear y/n? Approximate year?
13 D 24099 4
5675 2929

Is it possible to tell from these numbers?

Thank you!

All park avenues are good year welted. Allen Edmonds' major dress shoes are goodyear welted shoes. I think they might do blake stitch only for their driving mocs and maybe some of their loafers (not sure on the latter) and cemented for the sneaker-soled variety of shoes, and perhaps on their lug soles (again, not sure on this latter one).

The leather for park avenues will be either full-grain calf or cordovan. You should be able to determine if it is cordovan from feeling/looking at the leather. If not, it's calf.

I don't know about the year codes for Allen Edmonds.

By the way: Allen Edmonds is amazing with responding to inquiries on the phone. They are incredibly helpful. Call 'em during business hours. They literally checked archives for me to learn what the cost of a PA was in the 60s.
