Tonight I took photos of my 12 clothing items and 2 accesories I want to list on eBay December-January during college break. I have practiced making listings already and I am a seasoned buyer on eBay, especially of these type of items. All of the items are highend, some are even savile row bespoke but I want to be able to get rid of them fast. I have learned that some items will stay on eBay for months because of sellers that do not want to lower prices or negotiate. I am not so worried about prices, I am looking to make mad money. What I really need help with is how to plan for the shipping...

How exactly do I get the labels?

Should I buy boxes and envelopes now before I even list?

Any other advice...

Thanks!

Write down on a piece of paper what you think right now each item will make, divide by two, compare with final sale price, be amazed at accuracy.

you can print off paypal payments directly onto standard 8.5x11 paper.

order them for free on usps.com, and yes, do it now

Any other advice...

Dont fall in love with what the item was worth at full retail, its only worth what someone will pay for it this second. It goes for $20? Thats what its worth. You didnt "lose" any money. You are selling used clothes that before the invention of eBay would have been in the dump.

Ordered the boxes! I am so glad I found out about that, now I really am mad about the people that say: THE BOX WAS $10. BS. If you can print the labels from paypal then you could hand it over to your mailman? Or do you have to go to the post office?

for future refrence you should google 'free shipping boxes.' I used to sell items on ebay and would order boxes off ebay. About a week or 2 later usps sent me hoards of boxes. Never spent a dime on the boxes or the shipping.

Don't think it has been mentioned yet, but you can get free boxes. Just go to usps.com or google that ****.

also be aware of some countries fcuked up laws and stuff. I believe that places like Italy? spain, germany, etc (IIRC) have issues with PP and fraud and stuff. basically just do a quick search around to do with tracking packages. I think somewhere like spain, PP only has to show that there was a tracking number, not that it was actually delivered or something weird like that so there's a lot of fraud. Just make it clear you don't sell to certain places to make things easier.

If you want to sell the stuff, list it now, as we are entering a peak buying period of the year.

You can see what other comparable things have sold for by checking 'completed 'listings' on ebay. Also check the bidding level where the auctions began.

A lower opening bid will net more bids but perhaps a lower ending bid.

Some people set a reserve price but I don't care for them.

Higher-value shipments should be sent with tracking, delivery confirmation, even signature confirmation for very high-value items.
