He's delusional and may be suffering mild hallucinations. Earlier today I forced him to lie down and try to sleep, but he could only stay asleep for a couple of hours. I gave him some sleeping pills a few hours ago, but they didn't faze him. Is there anything I can do?

50 mg of diphenhydramine. Just some generic OTC sleeping pill I guess.

This happened to a girl I know, and it turned out it was a bad drug reaction. I don't mean to alarm, but maybe it's time to take him to a doctor?

If he still hasn't gotten to sleep and nothing's changed, I definitely emphasize what I said earlier: take him to a doctor or to health services. May not be serious, but I don't suggest messing around with it.

Sounds like you need to find out why he can't sleep. If it's got to the stage of hallucinating, a medical opinion isn't a bad idea at all. It could just be stress but there are a few other things worth checking out if he really can't get to sleep at all.

(And my first question would be to echo Moosy's question, but I would really mean is did he take any other "interesting" drugs before trying the sleeping pills...)

Bury him in the backyard and find a new roomate, this one is toast. Just kidding. I'd try to find out what caused this, and see what can be done from this point on.

We took him to the ER, they gave him sedatives. Thanks for the help.

This is not the result of drugs and it's rude of you to suggest it. Will somebody lock this please?
