Hello everyone. I am looking to purchase a receiver. Currently I have a set of Polk satellite speakers and a Polk subwoofer. I am going to be mainly playing music. I'm looking at a few Onkyos but would like the suggestions and advice that any of you all may have to offer. Thanks for your time. The room is pretty small that the setup will be in. Thanks again.

All depends on what you want to spend. If you're looking more on the budget side, Onkyo, Harman/Kardon, Denon, Yamaha are all solid brands.

Look up the Trends amp - giant killer for cheap. However it does require very sensitive speakers (+90 db) to work well.

If you just listen to music over 2 high quality spakers then yes (Polk Sats are NOT made for this).

If you're going to be watching TV, sports, movies, listening to music etc, then you need a multi-channel receiver; preferably with video switching and upconversion through HDMI.
