HELP : black shoes with shorts

recently started a job which requires a black polo and shorts. I am in need of a nice black shoe I can wear with this combination. thank you!

What is the nature of the job? Does it require you to be on your feet a lot?

What is the color of the shorts?

What kind of shoes? Dress or casual?

yes I am on my feet a lot.... dress is very casual. its at liquor and wine store. i will be wearing khakis most of the time with a black polo

Also, do they require black shoes? If not, please don't. They'll look strange, unless you're talking chucks or something. Actually, low top black chucks (with the white rubber- the black rubber versions just look strange) might be an okay idea. But not with khakis. Sneakers with khakis look awful. There are a lot of perfectly comfortable alternatives.

If they don't actually require the black shoes, how about a nice pair of white canvas sneakers? Or blue, or whatever. Wear 'em sockless in the summer with shorts. Or boat shoes, or camp mocs. Again, sockless with shorts. The latter two have the benefit of working with the khakis you mentioned too.
