I am a 33 year old teacher who is looking to start a wardrobe but am totally clueless as I currently dress like a 16 year-old dropout. I am looking for a handful of pieces that can start my wardrobe along with how one coordinates them. I am thinking a look that utilizes a blazer or sport coat with a button up shirt (tucked in) with jeans and comfortable shoes being that I have to be on my feet a lot. I don't even know how to coordinate my jacket, pants, shirt, possibly tie, belt, shoes and socks and I feel completely overwhelmed by the amount of information on this site so I apologize if there is already this type of thread.

A little info about me: 6'5", wide shoulders, rotund and pale skinned (I am not sure how this information influences recommendations but just in case!). I really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Your best bet on a Sunday night is the big Brooks Brothers sale online right now. From what you communicated I'd definitely start with a navy blazer, followed by a dark/medium grey wool blazer. A good white shirt can also be had cheap on BB right now too. I'd follow that up with some blue lines or check pattern as shirt #two. Now you have...6 outfits that can be paired with one pair of jeans and one decent shoe! I'd go brown then black leather derby here. (Make is a whole other answer)

For the clothes tho your unique sizing may even help since sale time is stuff that doesn't move quickly.

Oh...and True Detective is on right now, check how Colin Farrell dresses on that show. Basically what you described, if a little more badassed in terms of colors...I'm only half-kidding here BTW!
Good luck!

My pleasure. Navy or grey blazer on white or blue stripe/check button shirt. Looks awesome on the hottest day of July or the coldest day of January.
Cheers
