Am I a shoe hoarder?

I don't have crazy amounts of shoes, but I have purchased seven pairs over the Christmas holiday and I probably have 2-3 times the shoes my girlfriend has. I currently have multiple pairs BNIB. We have had a lot of snow and salt in Philadelphia lately, so while I don't coddle my shoes, breaking them in with a salt bath is not the way to go either.

I have a two pairs of EG sleeping in their boxes and a pair of C&J handgrade. I just purchased another pair of EG which brings me to four pairs of quality shoes that have not yet been worn.

I have seen these shows on the Discovery Channel about hoarders, and I'm starting to worry that I may have a shoe hoarding problem. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I can assure you there are plenty worse out there on this forum. 4 pairs isn't too bad. I'd do the same thing with the bad weather.

I have pairs I wear frequently and pairs i wear infrequently. None are NIB currently, but some ive worn maybe twice in two years. To answer your question: sort of.

Your affliction is nothing like that suffered by many others on teh forvm, poor souls.

Cool!

I have to take a business trip to Vegas at the end of the month, so I will use that as a chance to rock some EGs.

Do not worry, nothing wrong there............I know people that own over 200 pairs of which 30 to 40 have never been worn......

Yes, but they are either rockstars or royalty.

This is out of keeping with the generally positive tone of the other replies, but yes, I think you're a shoe hoarder. It kind of freaks me out how many of the people on this forum have this problem.

Hoarding is a problem only when it interferes with your ability to function. If you just have a lot of shoes you are just eccentric. The crazies on shows like Hoarders have a mental problem because the number of cats they collect interferes with sanitary conditions or makes them neglect basic household chores.

Enjoy your shoes.

I have a colleague and a friend with over 100 shoes that he has never worn outside of his house., and of course these are high end shoes like Edward green, John Lobb, Trickers, etc. I have at least 14 pairs that I have not worn...so dont feel bad. However, you should at least wear them in the house and keep them polished until you find the right occassion for them.
