I dont know if this has already been done, but I am in need of some serious shoe help..
I am an 18 year old who is in need of some shoes to wear with my jeans..currently I wear basic black chuck taylors, due to their versatility..any suggestions? I'm open to anything at this point..

It really depends on your style! What kind of look are you going for and what is your general style/lifestyle.

For casual wear I really like retro sneakers from Asics, Puma, Adidas

I also like boots quite a bit, especially for the winter!

Whatever you wear has to go with your outfit!

I'm totally open to anything..I would like some sneakers..theres a pair of nike zoom's I saw, but they are a couple years old and are extremely difficult to find..I really like those shoes that were posted earlier (not by Johnny............)

(sorry in advance for the novice descriptions) however I would also like to have a pair of dressier shoes that I would be able to combine with my jeans..any suggestions? I am a size 8 in regular shoe sizing and I dont know what that would equate to in dress shoe sizes

Mind if I borrow this thread to save me making another one? lol too late

I too am planning on getting new shoes in particular a non-sneaker, more dressier type shoe to go with jeans

Heres the thing, what should I look out for. Im thinking of having a local shoemaker to make some for me because it is fairly cheap (think the price of levi 501s) and the designs at one of the smaller stores was pretty alright so I am gunna check out the main one.

Should I go with brown or black (Im leaning more towards dark brown) also what should I look out for? Shiney or non shiney etc. I want something that would be most versitile, have a casual or not too over dressed look with jeans but still can be worn with a suit

Can someoen post pics of some great shoes, The style I was thinking of would probably have to be a wingtip or a captoe

Since when does it cost less than $50 to get a pair of custom dress shoes made locally?!

I would suggest a dark or mid-brown wing-tip balmoral. Casual enough to be worn with jeans, an OCBD and sport jacket - but equally suited to wearing with a suit for all but the most formal occasions. If you look around SF, especially in the men's clothing forum you'll find plenty of shoes that would fit the bill (but maybe not your budget
)

Here's one (in suede instead of calfskin) to start you off:

I would look around for some Quoddy Trail moccasins on sale, I managed to pick up a burgundy pair for sixty bucks last year, and the complements have not ceased since then. Great quality, simple, classic style.
