Hey everyone,

As the title suggests, I am from California, but I started my first year at Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio this fall.

This coming winter will be my first real cold-weather season.

I have a down parka, but need something for my feet.

I was thinking of red wing 411s

Any other ideas?

I live in Pasadena and rough out Army bucklers do me fine in rain and mud. Not much maintenance either. EDIT: Didn't see the part about Ohio. I think they are still a good option though.

+1, I think for the price, Katahdins are your best bet. Seeing as how you don't have $400 out the ass for Aldens.
