I havent seen a single SF-approved review on these. Someone needs to bite the bullet and find out if they're the Real Deal™.

I love that Gilt advertises them as "hardcore footwear". WTF does that mean, anyway? Are my Redwings "soft core"?

I, too, was struck by the Helm boots on Gilt . . . and I have *never* worn a boot in my life, and most assuredly never will.

Nevertheless, I high-tailed it over to the Helm website and on viewing I thought they were pretty stunning (except, as someone noted, for the white edge -- what's with that??).

Not my style, but kudos where kudos are due.

Euro sizes evidently reflect Turkish manufacture and French and Italian soles. Great "brand" logo (Ã la Texas).

"Heat-infused white rubber midsole inlay."
What does this mean?

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
