Weird weather recently. Recently NYC has been warmer than here. Yesterday, when NYC was 69 or so, we were around 49, then warmed to about 64. Today, we're 81 and NYC is 47. Snow in the midwest and Colorado. Cherry blossoms in DC.

there was a big article here a few days ago saying that California was going to have the hottest summer ever in history in 2007.

now I hope this doesnt actually happen, and thankfully the weather reports can never get accurate after 2 days. I remember reading at the end of 06 summer about this being an El Nino year and the massive rains we were going to see in So Cal. uh, yea...not.

Yeah in Buffalo we had a massive snowstorm in the middle of October. It hasn't snowed since.

I'll be pretty surprised if we get any snow all year. It's been predicted twice so far, and neither happened.

Well I am lucky to live in a little city ( Geneva )

I imagine it is not easy to commute in large cities like the ones in America,

But this is what public transport was invented for

I'm fortunate enough to live in a city with a great bicycle path network, an excellent public transit system, and most importantly, no stigma associated with using public transit. In 4 years, I have had no need to own a car. And if in the freak occurance when I do need one, I can rent, or use the car sharing program here. Blame it on a combination of suburban McMansion living, underfunded public transit systems, and car-centered culture here in North America.
