If OP wants to perfectly align his lapels with the collar, the tailor will have to change the way he attaches the collar. Here is my crude illustration of how the lapels and collar can line up. Left one will leave the first stripe bare, so the right one may be preferred. But I have no idea how tailors can work around this. @Despos will have a more professional suggestion than most of us.

Point of the article is to show OP that mis-alignment is okay, if you trust your tailor. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I hadn't thought about this. I wonder if playing around with the slope of the yellow line would have some unwanted effect on how the jacket sits on your shoulders/neck though? In any case, this looks like a beautiful jacket (and one that I suddenly must have). Enjoy it!

It's a suit actually. I've gone with a slightly looser trouser than I usually would and turn-ups (cuffs), which is something I never do usually.

I hope to wear it for Christmas day.

Thank you for all your help and good wishes.

Haven't tried to match the collar & lapel stripes at the gorge and no client has ever asked for this. Adjusting the angles of the gorge to get convergence of stripe seems a reasonable approach. May experiment with this some day.

Ah, you've been fortunate in not encountering a customer as picky as I am ;)
