Hello all, I'm in need of some style advice please! :D

Hello all, nice to meet you all, hopefully I have come to the right part of the forum and you guys don't mind helping me out.

I am a Punk in style (and play Punk & some Metal on Bass Guitar) - however, I feel I need to change my style (Not musically, of-course.) because I'm just getting fed up with the way I look and having all my clothes look the same.

For your amusement here's some pictures of what I look like:
When I used to have long hair..

Meduim Hair..

Now with a hawk

*ignore the fingers being up, I do not know why I did that..*


And as you can see from those pictures I pretty much always wear the same things: Jeans & a band top, it's so tiring and boring now though, so I decided to look for a style forum and this one seemed to be the best around thus I came here looking for some advice, I need some help looking for a style that would suit me, here's a few things I like:

*Overcoats
*Sports Coats
*Jeans
*Colours: Blue, Red, Black

And that's all I can think of to be honest with you, however there are bound to be other things I like too, so if you guys wouldn't mind helping me break free style wise, that would be amazing and I will be very, VERY thankful, thank you for reading this post,

Why should I? I have fun with my job, earn a decent amount of money, get to see diffrent places & learn new things. I was a builder at one point of my life but found bass playing much more enjoyable. oh and I am getting a haircut too, just don't don't know which style to go for yet, I don't want to have a boring small cut that everyone has, I do have a mind of my own, eventhough it doesn't seem present in my style.

Yes, very dramatic change in style, I was thinking of getting: Knee length overcoat, some top (not decided on this part), jeans & some nice brown shoes, how does that sound? Shaun

ok, look, my advice is you go over to the streetwear and denim forum.
then spend a long time (like weeks) just reading and looking at pictures
do some searching because topics like this come up like every week, so the info is out there
go buy some basics and focus on fit
get some very thick skin and don't be scared off
post pictures
revamp wardrobe
repeat

Kind of a broad question. Go to the WAYWT thread (both men's clothing and denim and streetwear) and see what the other well dressed folks here are wearing, and ask question about the stuff you like.

Thank you for the welcome, I'm not really looking for streetwear, sorry if my 1st post was misleading, I want to wear something like a knee lengh overcoat, nice shirt, jeans and some nice brown shoes, or is that the streetwear style? sorry, i'm a bit clueless about fashion, thanks Shaun @TPHD will do

Hey evrybody, I looked in that Streetwear and Denim thread thing but that's NOT what I am looking for, here's the style i'm kinda looking for: http://www.premierman.com/shop/produ...pgUid=11141228 I like that overcoat(navy) alot, but would it be possible to wear jeans with it and for example a white shirt or would it not look right? thanks.

With jeans, a somewhat shorter coat, such as a navy peacoat, might be a beter look.

Asking for advice on an overcoat isn't the same as you wanting to revamp your style.

I really don't know what it is you're asking for.

It sounds like you're looking for a 'classier' street look, which is fine.

I agree that you should look for a navy pea coat which will look great with jeans.

Anyways, just some suggestions to get you some 'basics' that will get alot of use in your wardrobe as you try to rebuild.

I will give you legit advice. I have a lot of t-shirts from clubs, charities, sports teams that I have (kind of like your band shirts). When my balls dropped, I dropped all my tshirts in a box so I would have them as a keepsake (some people make quilts out of them I just keep it in a box). I bought some essential t shirts to start which means strictly solid colours, such as white, black, dark navy. Then I bought some Levi's 514 slim straight jeans and started moving onto dress shirts. I don't know what your financial status is so I don't know what else to suggest but guessing from the long hair you should just go with solid slim fitting shirts and to start lifting heavy objects outside.
Basically two advice I gave:
Solid tees
Decent jeans (none of that emo with the silver emo belt stuff)

Oh yeah try to get something besides converses like captoe oxfords, maybe a nice pair of desert boots.
