    Dear Styleforum,

we are more than pleased to announce, that Heinrich Dinkelacker has become become an official affiliate at Styleforum.

If you ask yourself „Who is Heinrich Dinkelacker?“, let us introduce to you:

Heinrich Dinkelacker is one of Germany’s oldest and most exclusive men’s shoe brands. The Dinkelacker name has been synonymous with tradition, extraordinary craftsmanship, and stunning footwear for over 130 years.
    1.jpg
The highlights hidden on the the underside of the sole (Tripple leather sole with brass toe cap and nails)

The company completely forgoes assembly lines and pressures to churn out massive quantities at a quick pace; instead, in keeping with the spirit of ‘slow fashion’, seasoned cobblers in our Budapest factory produce only 25 pairs of shoes each day.

    2.jpg
Budapest, world capital of premium cobbling

This pace is hardly surprising, given that it takes around 300 work steps to create each pair in our collection. Moreover, as has always been the tradition, most of these work steps are carried out by hand. We also pay close attention to selecting the materials to make our shoes; after all, a premium shoe is made from premium components. These careful choices pay of: Shoe lovers prize the exclusive quality and extraordinary wearing comfort of our footwear.

    3.jpg
300 work steps from cutting the leather to applying the finish ...

... without assembly lines or pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Founded in 1879, over the years, this premium luxury brand has become synonymous with charming Budapesters featuring an unmistakable braided welt. In Germany, the Dinkelacker name continues to be strongly associated with this type of shoe to this day.

Heinrich Dinkelacker emphasizes quality above all else, down to the tiniest little details. From the cut of the leather to the hand-punched welts, through to the trademark brass nails and the personalized signatures from master shoemakers, the Heinrich Dinkelacker collection consists of fascinating, one-of-a-kind pieces embodying the pinnacle of handcrafted perfection.

Heinrich Dinkelacker secured its continued success at the turn of the century through cooperation with renowned international fashion brands (e.g. Comme des Garçons), earning the trust of decision-makers and industry leaders as well as the commitment of major players in the German economy.

The brand is especially popular amongst German and Japanese shoe lovers. Since last year, we’re also present on the American market with our own sales rep. We had the great pleasure to present our collection in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas.

Welcome aboard. Best of luck. I have two pairs of your shoes that were done in collaboration with Junya Watanabe. They are outstanding and I really like them.

If possible, you should make your presence here known on the SW&D side of Styleforum. There are a number of other members who post there that also own your shoes from the Junya collaboration.

I heard about your brand only recently, when I received an email promoting it. Your shoes look like real beauties. I hope to own a pair one day.

The pics were taken when they were brand new. So many years ago now that I can't recall if I got them from a forum member or a forum vendor.

This is a very good question which is only to answer with a long explanation:

If a shoe fits does largely depend on the last. The last is the “wooden foot” which serves as the model for the latter shoe and is removed right before the completion.

As different as people are, as different are their feet. To provide every foot with a perfect stability and comfort, you need a variety of different lasts.

Heinrich Dinkelacker has developed over 15 different last which pay attention to the different needs of different feet. The variety ranges from the classic Budapest last ‘RIO’ which has been produced for more than 60 years now to the modern ‘LUZERN ’last which is particularly interesting for a narrower foot. In the following we shall present the 7 lasts of the current collection.

    RIO
The RIO is the most classic last of Heinrich Dinkelacker. For more than 60 years he is the example of a perfect Budapest shoe with an impressive triple sole. It fits the robust foot which needs sufficient space for its toes.

    3099_4318_schwarz_sw-sw-09.jpg

    BUDA

The BUDA is the second legend from Heinrich Dinkelacker. Produced for more than 50 years, the BUDA shows an everlasting popularity amongst our customers. Its fitting is similar to the RIO but it provides more space for the instep. Its double, hand painted sole is made from the long lasting Rendenbach leather and is strengthened with brass nails.

    MILANO

Together with the LUZERN, the MILANO is a slimmer last of Heinrich Dinkelacker. The flat forefoot satisfies customers with a lower instep. Of course, you do not have to miss out on our famous double sole from Rendenbach.

    Milano_3500_0045_antik.d.-braun.jpg
    LUZERN

This last with the slightly sloping tip provides an alternative to every fan of Heinrich Dinkelacker who is looking for a slimmer and more elegant shoe. In contrast to the MILANO the LUZERN provides more space in the forefoot area.

    Luzern_5392_0045_tabacco.jpg

    WIEN

The WIEN is the classic loafer last from Heinrich Dinkelacker. The shoe tongue is crucial for the fitting: A long one for the flat instep and a short one for the feet with a higher instep. The WIEN last is available in every leather- from calf to cordovan.

    Wien_4701_0544_schwarz.jpg

    LONDON

This last is pure understatement. The LONDON provides every wearer with an alternative to the traditional looking lasts. The LONDON has room for a high instep, a wide forefoot and wide toes. Especially when made of cordovan leather, the LONDON shows its full potential.

    London_8022_4360_oxblood.jpg

    JANOSH K

JANOSH K is the rescue for every man with large, wide feet. The K width is rare on the market and impossible to find in a variety as we provide it at Heinrich Dinkelacker. No matter if classic shoe, boot or even loafer-every style is available on the JANOSH K last. Nevertheless, this last never looks hefty but very harmonious and discrete.

Is there any possibility to buy your outlet online?
What are the prices there for cordovan?

I cant find the option for toe taps on the site, what is the price for them?

Our outlet is exclusively accessible at our store at Bietigheim. If you have the chance to go there you can also profit from the beautiful old town.
There is no automatic toe tap option but if you contact me after your order, I can arrange with our shoemaker to attach them. The simple, put on version costs 14$. The real inlay costs 49$.
