I like thick, heavy sweaters. Fisherman's sweaters, boiled wool Dachstein mountain sweaters, thick cable knit sweaters.

I'd love to find a heavy sweater made from cashmere. However, all I've seen are thin, lightweight cashmere sweaters.

Anyone know of a source for a heavy weight cashmere sweater?

Honestly, I have an amazing Alan Paine cashmere fisherman's sweater and it's awesome, but I've also run into it being too hot in anything but the depths of winter. I'm in Ohio, so I do have use for the sweater since we see lots of cold weather, but I'd still encourage you to think about your climate.

That said, I definitely recommend scouting Ebay for old examples. The old Scottish ones, from several brands, are very nice. Despite being on the bay, don't expect to pay a song for one of them - nice ones are worth a pretty penny, and chunky cashmere has always been expensive, at least in relative terms.

yeah, I have some vintage ones that are nice too. I think heavy sweaters like that made more sense before American style heating.

If these are the same ones as I have, they are outstanding, and very heavy.
