I read this article on my phone the other day, and thought this forum might have something to say about it. What do you all think?

"Consumers won't see a lot of exciting products this year as recession-wary sellers avoid innovative merchandise in favor of bland and basic." Read CNN article here: http://money.cnn.com/2009/02/13/news...sues/index.htm

Discuss.

So no more checks? At best pinstripes, more likely solids? No one-buttons? Maybe no four-buttons if we're lucky! Certainly no shirts with bright green candy stripes and spread contrast collars.

I went to the mall this evening. Packed. Like, Christmas-Eve packed. Traffic in deadlock all around it. So people were definently out, mostly to eat, but a few were carrying purchases.

The mall here (Fashion Mall) was packed today. An SA told me they have been very busy for the past two weeks. It actually seemed busier than it did during the christmas holidays.

Didn't the retail numbers beat expectations for January?
