Have you ever woken up and just kind of... don't give a f***?

Ever have one of those days? Just sudden you wake up and your perspective on life completely is turned upside down? You just don't give a ****. You let the things you were previously reserved or shy about go; you say the things you want to say, do the things you want to do and radiate a confidence that has people drawn to you magnetically.... or outrageously offended at how out of line you are. It's like the confidence of alcohol but the consciousness of sobriety.

It's like that scene in Office Space where the guy, to bluntly put it in the context of this phenomena... stops giving a ****. Except where it doesn't quite ruin your professional career.

Or it might just be time to find a new job. Things can build over time at an office job that inevitably culminate in those feelings. If you're lucky, you're not tied down to that job and/or are in the financial position to walk away from it.

The markets are crashing, bills are piling up; I don't give a ****. Right now the idea of more bills/debt is not appealing, cutting ties and moving to South America is.

I have no problem wandering around North America in the mean time though I guess... Hopefully the economic depression will at least bring more adventure and excitement.

Yes. I called my fiancee up at lunch and said that I think I should quit my job today. She thought it was a good idea so I went into my then bosses office and politely told her to go fuk off, i quit.

wasnt a very considered decision at the time, but in retrospect was definately the right one.

See with this exception thrown in there, you are conditionally not giving a ****, which is akin to giving a ****.

Did exactly the same on Friday.

There may well be a worldwide depression right now, but thats not to say that there are not opportunities out there for the right people.

Dont forget, just because businesses are struggling means you should. Remember your own value and concentrate on looking that little bit harder.

Wow. Some pretty bold guys around here.
I've quit jobs before, several times in fact.
But are people really hiring? At your payscale?

This was my concern for the last 10 months, but you cannot continue at a company that is decreasing in size month on month. It holds back your entrepeurial spirit, who the hell wants to work in that situation in any climate? Not me.

Now is the time to position yourself to come out of the recession/depression even better off than when you entered it.

Thats why quitters arent always quitters.
