Old thread here. I used it over a period a few years ago, and then completely forgot how to tie it. The knot looks good if done right, it gets a quite "waisted" shape:

Mr. Christensen is playing a joke on you guys because the distinctive crossover in the illustration is impossible the way he ties his knot from a 100 years ago. You will never get the distinctive crossover tie with his method.

Just used it on Saturday, as a matter of fact. I get bored easily, so I throw that in the mix every now and then. It does take a lot of material, though. I usually reserve it for my three-pieces because the tie becomes so short.
