Have you ever walked out of a restaurant without paying?  If so, why?

No, but came close at Tavern on the Green. After a fifty dollar deposit for the reservations, and then waiting an hour and a half past the reservation time to be seated (we were fifteen minutes early to the reservation) for terrible service, we ended up leaving a two or three percent tip and left.

I walked out after my debit card was declined and I had no cash. I was facing a night of washing dishes. Before you call me a prick, I should say that I went back in after my next paycheck, paid the bill and left a 100% tip for the waiter.

I walked out on most of a bill once, because our server was an asshole from the start, the food was bad, and he couldn't be arsed to come back to the table after dropping it off for us. We couldn't find him or anyone to get the bill, so we "estimated" it at $10 for both of us, and left.

Needless to say, I will never return to that establishment.

Yay. We have to make a pact, next time some f*cker overcooks our eggs benedict, we will loudly spit them out on the floor and run out of the restaraunt holding our stomachs like we are gonna hurl.

Here's a little story about what happened last time my friends decided to dine and dash.

There was 7 of us and 5 decided to go to Denny's and eat. A female friend of mine and I were "busy" so we stayed in the car. About 20 minutes later people started trickling back to the car then all of the sudden the last one jumped in and said "hurry, lets go" and we left. A couple of minutes later we got pulled over and the officer made all of us get out of the car and line up so the employee could identify who ate. Unfortunately for me I didn't have any clothes on at the time so I had to stand in the line-up with only some boxer-briefs on. Unfortunately for them the officer then arrested all 5 of them.

Wow, that's a vigilant denny's employee to even notice that you were gone... most of the time, you could be dead on the ground and they wouldn't notice... much less serve you...

He actually ran and chased the car for about a block, but it was about 1 in the morning so I guess he had nothing else to do

Kind of like J's situation. My family and I were coming home from a roadtrip to Portland and went for something to eat by U of W's campus. Found what looked to be a funky little diner kitty corner to the UW bookstore. The food was literally inedible, the waitress took our order at first, got us drinks and that was about it. The kitchen staff brought out the food. We each took about 2 bites, looked at each other, nodded and started getting ready to leave. There were still menus on our table so we just tallied up an amount we thought appropriate and left.

A.

P.S.>On a volleyball roadtrip in high school about 8 of my friends dined at a White Spot (a chain of restaurants in British Columbia) skipped the bill and ran to our team van. The assitant coach was 19, thought it was hiliarious and floored it out of the parking lot. They were never caught, although on a roadtrip last summer my friend and I drove by the same White Spot and he refused to eat there.

Probably Flowers, they are notorious for the too-hip-for-you staff and clientele. Never eaten there myself, don't care to try.

Price of a Meal at Denny's between 10-20 Dollars.

Price of a meal at Tavern on the Green: Between 50-200 Dollars.

Price of having the guy in the getaway car standing with no clothes on in a lineup: Priceless.
