I found these on discount on STP. I am not interested in supporting Castro or anything but I have to say they are pretty comfortable and look good with jeans.

Neither. It may be a Spanish company but I don't remember..

The American Havana Joe brand division folded up its operations awhile back but the Spanish parent brand, Panama Jack, still does business in Spain and in Europe.

Thanks for this. I've been waiting for a definitive answer for what seems like years. So, definitely not Cuban then? I never really thought they were based on the heels.

The company is based in Spain and manufactures high quality footwear for the Spanish domestic and European market. Spain's greatest footwear maker however, is Bestard, based on the island of Mallorca. Its hiking boots and shoes are world-class in quality.
