Has RLBL fallen out of favour with SF?

The RLBL shirts fit fine around the chest/shoulders, but are really big at the waist. The tapering isn't strong enough without tailoring.

As SkinnyGoomba pointed out, I also find that PRL custom fit is much better in that it has a stronger taper. The PRL is odd though in that there seem to be several different fits without a good way to tell the difference except the retail pricepoint (higher = slimmer).

To be fair, though, your other posts suggest that you aren't a 38-42 suit, which means the sizes you seek will probably stick around longer, hence the ability to find them at such good discounts. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

i have found smaller sizes for friends... say two size 36r suits and a size 38r. all in that price.. i do wear a 42 to 44 though

Been on the hunt for my 1st RLBL for a year and can't find one in my size at a even halfway decent price.

Does anyone have experience with the new "Daniel" model? Supposed to have a softer shoulder than the RLBL Anthony

The Daniel is one of their SC models, correct? I haven't seen it on suits.

I think the Daniel is a little shorter with slimmer lapels and shorter vents, etc

I prefer the shoulders on the PRL/Corneliani stuff, even if the fit is a little baggy in the waist.
IMO... Caruso Sartoria Parma > RLBL Caruso

+1. I was in RL trying on various suits the other day and liked the PRL much better than the RLBL. The RLBL shoulders looked almost cartoonish on me (especially in contrast to the natural shoulders on the Samuelsohn jacket I was wearing when I walked in).

I've been going to other sources for too long. I've never heard of 'black label' ... of purple, yes ... and the old blue 'Polo' label (still around?). How many quality levels does the Ralph Lauren brand have?

For quality, the consensus seems to be: Chaps < Blue Label < Black Label < Green Label < Purple Label

Lauren/Chaps
Ralph
RRL
PRL (Italy)
RLBL
RLPL

The old, pre-purple label Ralph Lauren stuff is somewhere in the mix between PRL, RLBL, and RLPL.
