Has anyone had an experience with Burberry suits?

I Just picked up a nice Navy pinstripe three piece this weekend. It looked great, but I had to tailor the **** out of it. The cut was pretty wide.

Does anyone know if Burberry suits hold up well and who designs them?

They're made by Hickey Freeman, so they should hold up relatively well. :-/

I've got one. It's very sharp, and anything but wide. Have no idea about durability, yet. Chicks dig it bigtime though.

If they are indeed made by Hickey then they'll look great and the fit will be perfect, but the durability isn't top notch. (Such has been my experience with HF suits in the past anyway.) I tried on a solid Navy Burberry today in fact, so I know what you mean about the "wideness".

I suspect there are different model. I picked up a plain navy one on sale a few christmases ago and I too had to put in some extensive alterations. The tailor was frustrated with it an commented on the poor quality construction compared to the RLBL that I brought in at the same time.

I find the fabric quality to be sub-par but overall it's acceptable as a workhorse given the fact I got about 65% off the retail price. I wouldn't buy another one though, even discounted.

Mine is made in Canada with the "Unite Here" logo inside, so depending who makes it, the quality could vary.

I have a nice 2 button navy w/ pinstripe.............has been a workhorse for the last 2 years. I get many compliments on it and I've never even touched the jacket. The only alterations were the pants.......waist and bottoms.
