I'm thinking about picking up this laptop case from Hartmann: http://www.hartmann.com/shop/productDetail-sku-5370-AV A local store has it on sale for $200 ($150 less than retail). For forum members who own Hartmann bags: are they sturdy? do they hold up well? is this a good value? I'll be using this as my daily commuter bag -- it's time to put the tumi bag to rest. The leather on the one I examined was soft but not terrific. A Coach duffle bag I recently bought on B&S has much more substantial leather. What are your opinions? Thanks,

I have used Hartmann business cases and luggage for the past couple decades and have found them to be very well thought out in terms of design. I have only bought belting leather, which is not what you are looking at, so I would suspect that the scrapes and abrasions that my bags typically encounter and add "character" may be interpreted differently with a finished leather -- not that this would be different with any other makers finish leather offering.
