I'm in Taipei and came across a HSM section in a department store with a sale on. I got a decent fitting basic charcoal suit for around $210 (about a third of the original retail price on the label). I've never had a HSM suit but I've always been curious about them. The suit is made in China and it certainly feels at least part fused.

Can anyone say anything about what kind of quality can be expected from a suit like this? Is it decent value? Is all HSM manufacturing outsourced these days?

If it fits well(before or after tailoring), the color is nice and $210 was within your budget....keep it and wear it well.

No one can really tell you much about the quality without seeing the suit/labels.
