Received my invite for the MTM event starting next week. Has anyone taken advantage of that and is it worth it?

The attached piece of fabric and pic of the two button mid gray pinstripe is exactly what I am looking for these days but not sure if I should go the Harry's route or not.

To the other extreme I noticed a Gianfranco Ferre 3 button (half canvas??) on ModaInStyle.com which looks good and only $399 then just take it to Joy at Oakridge for tweaking.

Thoughts?

I have done a few MTO and MTM's Sammy's at Harry's. You can get better deals on the MTO elsewhere, but harrys is good to deal with and no hassle / no cost for future alterations.

Is it worth it? Samuelsohn makes a nice suit, at a great a price. For me it is worth it.

I use Paul's at North Shore for all my MTM needs now. Just stopped by there today for a fitting on 2 jackets and a 3 piece suit actually.

I have done the MTM event at Harry's before at the Zegna shop with Dominick which was a pleasure, but usually I can get a similar Zegna fabric for about half the price at Paul's and I have a lot more customization options to work with there. I've done 3 seperate fittings on a jacket at Paul's and Julie and Frank made sure I was happy. On the other hand, when I did a MTM at Harry's I showed up for my fitting and the jacket was pretty much finished already with only the sleeve buttons missing since they do the work in Italy. Luckily, I think it turned out pretty well though.

I'd say that if you find some fabric you like and the price is right on sale at Harrys then go for it. Worth a try.

I also go to Joy for all my alterations, but I am too tall for RTW jackets and shirts so I just take pants and polos there now.

Good luck!
