Research Brian Haggas , the man virtually single handedly ruined the Harris Tweed industry. Dont take my word for it watch the Harris Tweed documentary on how many jobs he took away then decide if you want to support him and buy one of his jackets !!

Not sure what your question are or what 'documentation' you are after.

If you want one of the four Haggas patterns eBay is probably cheapest.

Haggas also owns Brook Taverner who also sell the jackets in his four patterns.

Can the laxdale be considered as the more classic tweed pattern and the dalmore the more casual or how would you categorize that?

Thank you for thoughts on that.

thnx

You are over analysing it.

Haggas kept it simple and you only refer to his jackets. One style, four colours.

You have to trust your own judgement. There are no levels of formality either.

yes, but is the pattern barley corn tweed also a common known Harris Tweed pattern and appreciated as standart popular colour? Sorry but dont know anything about that. As this is my first tweed i want a basic and something that actually looks like harris tweed. Imagine a simple black harris tweed, you would look like you just bought a black odd jacket with bad hard fabric, you know what i mean..

There's a lot of vintage jackets on eBay?

Are these jackets likely to have high armholes?
