I'm looking for a new Harrington jacket. I like having a stiff collar that stands up, and a thicker fabric (I find the Ben Shermans too thin). Budget about $120.

I've narrowed it down to Merc, Ben Nevis, and Jump the Gun.

https://www.merc.com/products/the-classic-harrington-jacket?variant=16219768946790 Merc looks good. I don't like the logo on the left chest though (is it possible to take it off?)

https://www.bennevisclothing.com/product/harrington-jacket-navy/ Ben Nevis's looks a bit floppy which I don't like. I want it stiffer. Also the fabric looks a bit thin.

https://jumpthegun.co.uk/product/harrington-navy-raglan/ Jump the Gun's collar looks a bit floppy which I don't like. I want it stiffer.

Anyone have experiences with these brands? Thanks.

No experience with those. My two are both Fred Perry which are great. You might want to give them a look if you haven’t already ruled them out.

Also you might get more replies next door in Streetwear and Denim on either of two threads entitled ‘Mod to Suedehead’ and They Look Goes On’

Good luck!

You get what you pay for. If you want a Harrington, a good one, I think you have two choices: the original, the Baracuta G9; and a good "Harrington-style" jacket, Private White VC's Harrington (which has the stiff collar you say you want). Neither have visible logos, neither of them fall inside your budget.

In addition to Andy's suggestions, you might consider Grenfell. Shop around and you might find some on sale.

There's also an old Jump the Gun thread.
