I've been wearing Fryes with harnesses since I was a wee little hardass w/flaming-skull embroidered diapers on. They've always had the strap of the harness go under the last and above the sole. Recently I just saw a few options (not Frye) where the bottom strap goes under the sole, too, which makes the whole harness removable. Does anybody know which came first? The latter example seems more practical, actually, because you could take the harness off, put on your boots, then attach the harness to make them snugger (more snug?). Here's what I mean: [IMG] [IMG]

The bottom shoe reminds me of a spur housing.
