He's a very tall imposing guy. But he dresses like he shops

of the "Archie Bunker" culture he sometimes represents
have a way of clouding his often valid criticisms, of the
political and business elite. Geither is no politician but a
professional functionary. He is very unpopular among
Liberals and populist Conservatives alike because of his
economic/financial policies. The fact that he dresses
like a "Master of the Universe" for Matthews is a
sign that he is out of touch with the real needs
of many Americans. It's a cheap shot and it is
wrong. Geithner dresses like a rich banker
which is what he is. No more, no less

Where's the nobility?

The British, when they ruled the Thirteen Colonies, created no Noble titles
or the lands to which they pertain. Nor were there any Bishoprics of
the Church of England. All Americans were commoners except for a few
peers from Britain who were resident as Royal Governors, Military,
land speculators, etc.

Sanders couldn't be be further from hereditary nobility. He is the son
of Polish Jewish immigrants and the only Socialist in the US Senate.
I like him too.

I'm sure some style nazis will correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression spread collars good option for thinner people? Point collars would elongate a long narrow head like Geithner's. But since most Americans are at least moderately obese, spread collars must be for uppity Euro wannabes.

I'm seeing too many spread collars out there. Americans, especially men treat fashion like a uniform, they throw on clothes because someone else tells them. The fact that the spread collar is in Matthew's lexicon means it an overused tool like the denim jean.

I don't wear spread collars because someone told me, rather, as another poster said, they are more flattering to elongated faces. Almost all of the different options available in men's suit wear have pros/cons for various body types, they aren't arbitrary fashion choices.

Heh, you raise a valid point with that one. After all I wouldn't have thought it would be that big a deal.

I always thought wide collars would compliment a narrow face and vice versa. Then again, american politics seems to be quite different to any where else.

Next Week: Timmay discombobulates Sartorial Inquisitor Crissy Matthews when Crissy espies the dissonant juxtaposition of Timmay's cutaway and Euro-barreled cuffs.

(Cutaways are by nature arrogant, elite/effete. That's their primary attraction. Only straight point shirts are proper for congressional testimony by anyone with common sense. They're democratic, with a small 'd'. Spreads are borderline. BD's too casual)
