I have a fairly heavy wooden bar sign that I'd like to hang in my room sans nails/drilling a hole in the wall for fixtures. Can anyone reccomend something else that'd be able to hold the sign up without causing permanent damage to the wall?

I'd drill and use an anchor. Or a nail in a stud. No permanent damage, nothing a little spackle can't fit. Decorating your dorm?

I only clicked on this link to give you advice about hanging out with chicks without drilling them...

I can be of no help around the house.

Large old houses used to have a "painting rail"--similar in look to a chair rail--which was used to hang paintings by means of a decorative hook and rope.

Perhaps you could install something like that.

Leave it to an Irishman to install a bar sign.

Will you put up some stolen traffic signs as well?

Ignore these guys. You don't need any anchors!

I think the best place for your bar sign is above the headboard of your bed. Secure it with either double faced tape, krazy glue or fun tac.

Go to bed and dont give it a second thought

Pushpins, specifically the colored plastic versions.

Are the walls drywall or what? If drywall, the larger sizes of picture hangers (the kind that angle the nail downward) can have ratings of up to 50lb/each, so you should be good for 65-75lbs with two -- unless it is a sign of epic weight that ought to be sufficient.

I'd offer advice only if you'd tell me where you stole the bar sign from. Those things can get $$

Seriously, just be a man a drill a nail into the wall. Worry about the damages later.

+1 You'd leave 6 (2 arcs of 3) tiny holes. If your sign is less than 50 lbs. you could use couple of the single-nailed ones rated for 20 lbs.

What's the sign say?
