Wrong. Ties made out of silk "recover" best when rolled, not hung. Trust me, I used to work in a tie shop. However I do hang mine due to lack of space, tie racks are great

+1 for the tie racks. Saves space and keeps the ties in decent shape.

I use a tie rack as well, and my ties have been fine. I've read that with silk you're supposed to roll ties, not hang them, but I simply don't have the room to do that.

I used to roll them after letting them air out, but now I do just this because of space constrains in my chest of drawers (i.e. too many ties, not enough space).

I roll them. Lady Canuker and myself just finished the closet to which I bought some drawers to hold my ties. I shall post a photo tonight when we get home.

I hang them. Rolling them sometimes makes the edges curl.

I hang all mine but then someone on here said not to hang knits so now I've got a whole bunch stacked and laying flat. Should I even be worrying about that or can I go OCD and hang everything so it looks better?

Perhaps- But I've had good luck with hanging. My woolies especially do better hanging.

But also like you, I've no room to roll and store my ties.

If, after unknotting my tie I notice especially severe creasing, I'll roll the tie for about 24 hours and then hang it up, otherwise I just immediately hang my tie on a rack. I hang all my ties ( but, I don't wear sock ties).

This thread inspired me to roll my ties and store them on a shelf in my closet. I'll see how this works out for me in the long run, but so far I like it. Until now, I've always stored them hanging.
