New leather billfold design I'm making.
iPad sleeves! These are fun to make. I get to just geek out over stitching and edging.
Very nice. Did you do the stitching by machine or by hand?
Always by hand. I'm planning to learn how to use a sewing machine this summer, but only for cloth/canvas projects.
Been following this thread and I'll finally contribute one of my creations. It's really simple but my favourite design so far.
For the heck of it I made a video of its construction: http://radfordproduct.tumblr.com/day/2011/05/15
Those are really nice, mswintle. Where do you order buffalo from? That's a leather that I've been really curious about working with.
Thanks! And thank you for the link, I'll have to try it out sometime when I'm feeling adventurous. I love the texture, and that site has a ton of color options.
Damn, some of you guy's leather craft are AMAZING!
I purchased a blank belt thats precut and with rivets. I also purchased a leather keeper and a belt buckle. What else would i need to buy to complete this?
Also, what hardware is a necessity to make a leather key lanyard?
Just off the top of my head here's a list: Hole punch, belt end punch, mallet, edger, burnisher. If you want to dye it you would need dye, sealer, something to apply the dye and sealer with. Good luck!

Love that cafe racer seat look on the first wallet, Obbi:
^ah...Thank you, we actually made a seat cover for an old Vintage Vespa with the same design
Some new bags made, using oil-tanned leather and natural leathers for strap. Buckle design for adjustable strap.

That basket weave looks great, Obbi. I've been making a few card cases with little cash pockets on the back lately.
Hey guys, here's a belt I made today. Only my second project with stitching. Kind of unhappy with the stitch holes. Large and doesn't look very clean . What do you guys use to punch stitching holes? I'm using the Craftool Diamond Hole Punch 4 Prongs 3/32" bought from Tandy. Suggestions?
^I finally picked up the spacing wheel tool with three wheels, and awl that comes with four blades. It takes longer to stitch than with a 4-hole punch, but you have much more control over the spacing and size of the holes. After messing with punches for a while, I think this is really the only way to go. Just spend some time on a scrap of leather to figure out the best spacing/hole combination that you like.
