I recently purchased a couple of pairs of Cole Haan handmade shoes (earlier post discussed this shoe). I've included a couple of pictures of the shoes (one dark walnut brown, the other burgundy). Could someone give me your input on which of the two colors you prefer and why (one color looks better, is more versatile, etc.). I can only keep one and need to send the other back, but would like to get the members' input. Thanks for your comments. First, the Walnut Brown colors [IMG] Second, the burgundy color [IMG] Third, as side-by-side comparison: [IMG]

Finances prevent me from keeping both. I really would like to. HRH, have you seen these shoes before? They run about a half-size small, but they are very comfortable.

No, haven't seen them in person. But to answer the question as to what to keep, you need to analyze what you have not only in shoes but clothes. If you already have a burgurdy keep the walnut brown and vice versa. Both are beautiful shoes can't really go wrong either way.

I'd keep the Walnut. I think it looks nicer than the burgundy, less shiny and more like a fine calfskin. I also find this tone to be more flexible than the burgundy. I wear various brown shoes quite often, but I find that I rarely wear a cordovan-colored shoe.

I have a pair of dark brown gravati shoes that's I'm growing to like. Chili, london tan, whatever brown I can find. Funny because I used to dislike the browns.

These are most likely shoes to be worn with suits would you say?

I agree with all of this. Sometimes I think that I ought to get some more burgundy shoes, but then I remember that I don't ever really wear the ones I have. The walnut shoe looks richer, and you'll probably wear it more than the burgundy ones. They'll go with anything other than black.

Thanks to all who gave me input on these shoes. I decided to go with the brown pair and offer the burgundy pair on eBay. I have listed that information on the buying and selling forum.
