Hamptons...Where can one meet new people ?

I have a weekend share for the 4th of July, and I am dreading it.
Why? My only intent is to socialize with new people, not to "relax and get away" (I can easily "vacation" right at home)

However, based on my recent weekend, I find that it's not the type of place you meet new people. (I might not know the places, however)
Sure, if you do a house share, sure, you've got a captive audience in your house mates.
However, that can turn into a testosterone fueled swarm... with every guy taking a stab at the 4 cute women.
It's degrading to the guys, frankly, and I don't like that ratio/power dynamic at all. No thanks.
I prefer to ignore them, and let them approach me, if at all.

Loud DJ clubs are obviously a useless waste of time. Dead end.
Beaches are not conducive to conversation and ice breaking.

I have an invite to a private party at another house, and that's a key outlet.
Beyond that, if your goal is to socialize, how does one "do" the Hamptons beyond your house share?

Any ideas? Or is the Hamptons just not the place to meet new people? (If so, I get that)
