As much as a hate to start new threads, I realized we have no thread for glasses. I'm looking for some half-rimmed glasses a la 50's mad men and FBI g-men. I do know ray-ban does make some but I hate their logo things on the lenses and stuff.
What do you guys think of this type of style? Maybe someone could create a pinned glasses thread.

Are these going to have prescription lenses?
I highly doubt it'll be diffiicult to find a pair. If I recall correctly, Oliver Peoples were stocking a nice pair recently. Hell, OP connoisseur Paddy Bateman dons a nice pair of nice reading glasses in American Psycho. Would standard horn-rimmed glasses not suffice?

Are you sure you can pull them off? They're not for everyone.

Shuron was the first to make them, and have been doing so since 1947. I wouldn't consider any other brand. I love their frames.

so I just went and tried the PS509s on over the weekend and they don't fit! I'm totally bummed. much like the vast majority of PS eyewear, the temples are entirely too short. if you're considering them, BE SURE and try them on before you buy.

I do have a bigass head but they fit in every dimension save for the temples. too bad really, I LOVED they way the looked aside from that.

Does anyone know of a pair of modified browlines that do not have metal rims at the bottom, and have no metal center piece -- just one solid top piece? I have found these by Prada, but the height of the lenses are not tall enough. I came across a pair on eBay a few months ago in tortoiseshell, and I am regretting not buying them. I do not remember who made them, though.

Never seen 'em in person, but from what I see online, the Dita Statesman and Grand Reserve look great. However, the $500+ retail price does not.
