Hair Wax Advice

So I've never used hair gel/wax before though my hairstyle is currently a sort of faux hawk look. What I've been doing to keep my hair up is blow drying it as soon as I get out of the shower. However, I know that blow drying too often can damage your hair so I have been looking into some wax products.

I am going for a dry look that almost seems like I am not using any product. I've done some snooping and have come across a few products that match my needs, such as renati hard rock. The problem is that these products all seem to make your hair very stiff and crunchy.

I was hoping you guys might have some suggestions for keeping my hair up without making it too stiff or having to use a blowdryer.

Thanks

For something without too much of a product look you can try Kevin Murphy Gritty Business or Joico Erratic molding clay. Erratic has more hold probably but the Gritty Business is super matte. They both have very flexible hold.
