I've been having some trouble with my hair for some time.

That is the best picture I have of me. My hair is relatively similar to what is in that picture, and quite honestly, I'm tired of it. I'd like a new style, whether it be short or long, that has actual STYLE. I'm tired of my hair just being what it is every morning. I want something that will suit my face nicely and still have a nice bit of pizazz to it.

Why not go to a highly recommended salon with experienced stylists and tell them that verbatim???

They are going to be the experts who can not only see your hair but touch and and examine you and your face to help you decide on an appropriate hair style.

Men's haircuts even at pricey places are still pretty cheap.

I say go to a barber. Not a stylist or a "unisex salon" or any of that crap, but an actual barber, with a barber pole outside the shop. Tell him you want something "that will suit [your] face nicely and still have a nice bit of pizazz to it" and won't make you look like a) a tool or b) an old man. He should be able to do that, no questions asked.

With all due respect, OP please ignore that advice. Sounds like some bitter old dude. You're young and have the freedom to do whatever you want with your hair. The average "barber" only knows how to cut short mens hair. Go to a proper stylist who knows a thing about hair. Ask a lot of questions to understand your hair type and styles that fit your face, lifestyle, etc. Get a proper cut and don't be surprised if it costs you $50-100...

Yup. I'm a bitter, old 23 year old.

His hair in that photo is long, shaggy and messy, and he looks like a dirty hippie. It needs to be cut. Which is why I said to go to an actual barber. A "stylist", more often than not, does not know what they're doing with regards to cutting and styling men's hair. The average "barber" is not what I advised. I advised a real barber, one that can cut men's hair, the way that he wants (and help him figure out what he wants), and do it well. Did you even read the rest of my post, or did you stop at the pot-stirring comment that was nicely marked for you?

I went to a barber once and asked for "pizazz." Unfortunately he gave me "zing."

It was a long four weeks waiting for that to grow out.

what I'm getting at is, go to the people who know something intimately because they do it often. The average barber who works with men's hair deals with a couple of inches. That guy's hair is much closer to the average girls length and styling, hence going to a typical stylist who's used to working with that all the time. A good stylist will know what to cut away (think of the Michaelangelo's david quote about cutting away the excess) to turn the hippie into the hipster. Maybe we're just thinking of a different "barber" here. But my point is that he doesn't have men's hair, he basically has women's hair (no offense OP)

+1

Also decide do you want to keep it long, have it medium or short?
all can be done with varying degrees of thinning. Im pretty sure a good proper stylist can find an approriate haristyle for your face with most lenghts you want.

My freind once said somethign along the lines of , im your canvass and your the painter. Nevertheless his hairstyle was errrrr something...

You should find out what you like and don't like before you visit a salon. Often times, people who don't know what they want will just get whatever is easiest.

Look though some magazines and get some ideas about exactly how you want it cut or else you may be disappointed.

Five Hair Fall Solution Tips:
1)Make sure that you don't tie or comb your hair tightly because it leads to hair loss.
2) Avoid using straightening iron and blow dryer because these can easily damage the hair and negatively affect the cuticles.
3) Your diet can also greatly affect the health of your hair so drink a lot of water to prevent any kind of hair loss problems.
4) Get your hair trimmed frequently otherwise they get damaged and lead to split ends. Regular haircuts keep them beautiful and healthy.
5)Taking too much tension and stress related to work or family issues also leads to hair fall so it's best to live a happy life and stay away from tensions.

Hair tips :

1. Stay away from harsh chemical topical products
2. Never attack wet hair with a brush
3. Massage the Scalp with pure coconut oil
4. Wash hair with tea once in a week
5. do not use any old rubber band as they tend to break or split hair
