I guess it goes in this forum section, although its not really a 'consciousness' issue, just something I need to change as I do nothing with it!

Anyway, I hate hair gel as it does nothing much but make it greasy, and realistically I don't actually style it (perhaps because I can't really think up anything creative I like).

Anyway, I just want something simple, plain and easy. I don't want a wet look as such, I'd rather a dry looking effect, but one that provides some hold to it. My hair also desperately needs volume (currently I do nothing but keep it flat and just push the fringe to the sides/up so its back out the way
[I know, how bad]). Anyway, I've been doing it for years, but I really should get a style!

One I like is this:

(From KyleXY if you've seen the programme). Anyway, basically I want it like that as it is styled, has volume, is simple, I have the same shape and size head.

But what can I use to style it and give it volume without using the usual gels that just make it hard and wet looking? I saw this, but have no idea really, its a gel that turns to a foam - which sounds more promising, and it says it adds volume, so just wondered if anyone has used it or can suggest other products? I'm from England (U.K) so products over here thanks

Very important question: what sort of hair do you have? If you have the stereotypical english limp hair ( :-D ) you will need to actually "prop it up" with some products. Now, if you have wavy hair or curly hair, you won't need to do anything other than NOT put anything on it (and have it texturised a little)

If I recall correctly someone here is a trained pro (dont' remember the username) - he may be able to give you more accurate suggestions.

Osis Mess Up followed by a quick shot of Osis Sherbet has served me well the last two years. Keeps things relatively styled, but still looks like there isn't anything in the hair. Definitely a dry look.

Use a volumizing spray such as Kerstase Volumactive Spray or Mousse. I love these products because they are light and add volume. You can't even feel it in the hair! I promise! Check it out. Also, if you have any questions just contact me on my Facebook.

Hope this helps!
