Well im 16 years old and a half cast african/english so my hair is quite thick(i have more of indian style hair). I've sort of got a hair style which spikes all over but it looks abit odd on me :S.
So i was searching for some techniques or advice for styling my hair, i use shockwaves wet gel at the mo.
I wanted to have my hair sort of like this style: http://www.great-hairstyles.com/punk2.bmp or like this one: http://images.usatoday.com/life/gall...ool/mohawk.jpg

Thanks in advance for all help.

You might consider using an alt' product, perhaps wax. To get a super textured/ spikey shape, mould the hair with your gel (if thats what you're using) and then spray it with hairspray - this will set and help keep shape. If you use an alchohol based hairspray, you may dry your hair ... just a word of warning

Yeah don't use gel.

Use wax or fiber. Then use hairspray to keep it all in place.

Your haircut is more important than styling product though. So make sure you have the right cut so you can style it.

Don't use gel please!! Use wax instead. If your hair is too thick and not perfectly straight it might not be enough with just wax and you might have to use a flat iron also.
