Pure Vicuna is very very expensive. Prohibitively so I think. I'm still working out suppliers and costs.

I think a realistic compromise would be a Vicuna/Cashmere mix, of which I have some samples on the way to me. Will post pictures here in the next day or so.

Now sold out unfortunately, but I will restock it in January in grossa and fina flavours.

Perhaps the person who bought it might be kind enough to post photos here. I can PM him.

Received my package from Harry today. To reiterate the other posts, I received confirmation of my order immediately, everything was packaged nicely and received in a timely manner. Shipped to the States via Royal Mail, so no hit on customs. Love the drape of the tie that I purchased.

I picked up the Royal Blue 36 oz neat and a linen hank. I'll probably pick up a pindot and grenadine as well.

    Hi Roger,

My apologies for the delay in responding to this, but it was something I wanted to answer in full as rather an interesting question.

I think the short answer is my business model will mix in elements from all of the above.

As far as I can see, I will always primarily offer a RTW collection as opposed to made to order or made on demand, however you wish to describe it. I don't particularly want to hold onto tons and tons of fabrics, for various reasons. I enjoy choosing fabrics, creating a collection and seeing what sells, what doesn't and learning from that.

The other side I want to explore more, is discussing here with you guys different options for new designs, fabrics, materials etc that you want to see. And then being able to make a custom run of fabric and have it turned up into a tie. On the subject of mogador and stripes, I have just received the first samples of woven fabric from the mill and wanted to share some pictures with you guys.

Please let me know what you think, which colours you like, which scale of stripe you prefer, or thought on how it could be improved. There will be a small run of these in January, in addition to the rest of the Jan collection followed by a full run of stripes probably 10 different colourways in Feb.

Great post! Really looking forward to meeting my new ties! Quick question. What kind of printing do Hermes and Ferragamo use for their ties? They just seem to stand out so much in banking!

I would happily wear all of those stripes - just make sure you offer them in the English direction.

One other idea: the different silk makers have amazing archives. Depending on the sort of pictures they would allow you to publish, why not crowd source part of your collection? In other words, you could let SF pick a top five of, say, twenty different options and make those.
