I spotted some h&m ripoff fits this weekend and couldn't resist. ONe pair looks like nudie w/o the quality denim and the other looks like a one wash apc new standard. the measurements add up.

sliq raw (nudie slim jim?)
waist:36
waist measured: 35.5
front rise: 9.5
rear rise: 13
knee: 8.75
hem:8

regular straight (new standard?)
waist:34
waist measured:37 (!!-how bout a little qc?)
front rise: 11
rear rise:14
knee:9
hem:8.5

oh yeah, 40 for the slim jim's and 30 for the ns's-that's why I didn't mind buying big ones. and, of course, a caveat: these are not anywhere near the quality of their role models; but their affordability has got me confused. should I be now, officially stoked about raw denim and go out and drop $300 for the real deal, or should I go buy 8 pairs of h&mer's??

When I was at the NYC H&M last fall they had some slims that were almost exactly like Slim Jims, in a raw denim. Might be the same ones you have, but I dont remember the name. For $35 they were a great deal if you wanted lo-budget Jims.

And then ask to take them back after he gets some sick fades going on with 'authentic' stains and grime, and sell it on eBay, or perhaps Abercrombie and Fitch as a sample for a new wash design.

they look like they fit you pretty great. However, I've heard some things about questionable materials/construction on those, and I'm sure they don't age nearly as well as APCs or Nudies do.

Since denim gets better with age, why would you want something that will probably fall apart before it starts looking its best?

Yeah, I pick up a pair around April of this year, right before it it to hot in NJ. They are great, but the only problem I had with them was that they were a little too tight for my taste, so I had to size up a 31 waist. I hope that it gets cooler out soon, casue I want to wear them a little more and break them in a lot more. Pics coming soon.

Tried those on, fit pretty nice (very slim jim). Didn't get them but they're definitely a viable, cheaper alternative to more expensive slim jeans.

Yeah, if anyone has pics of how theirs are fading, that'd be awesome. I'm sure I could coax a friend to pick me up a pair either in SF or...what the hell? I just did a search on H&M and they now list the Bev Center and Old Town Pas on their list of stores, although no opening dates available... Sweet! Edit: I googled it up and found some article that claims H&M already opened a store on 1050 South La Brea. That's gotta be BS. Edit 2: And it was...

My H&M SLIQs about four months, stopped wearing them in July due to extreme NJ heat we get here every year.

There's a cold front in NJ right now, so that means that I get to wear them for a little while, until the heat, which looks like it will be early next week, retuns. Until then, I'm gonna wear them every other day.
